The word “bootcamp” sounds intimidating for some, but it’s just a general term that we give our AO groups who incorporate strengthening exercises into their workouts. Since these workouts are peer-led, it’s up to the Q to determine the type of workout and the muscle groups that will be targeted during the 45 minutes.
Some of the workout types you may experience include:
- HIIT
- AMRAP
- Tabatas
- Plyometrics
- Metabolic Conditioning
- Partner Exercises
Our bootcamps usually begin with an introduction from the Q and a 5-10 minute warmup, explanation of the workout with demonstrations of the exercises and ways to modify to fit all fitness levels. At the end, we’ll leave some time for optional stretching before we come together for the Circle of Trust, where we share names, ages, and FiA nicknames, and the Q will send us on our way with a motivational quote or faith-based reading. If it’s your first time, we’ll ask you to share some fun facts about yourself so you can head home with your very own FiA nickname!
